What is LangLearnListen?

LangLearnListen is a website designed to help practise language listening skills. It involves one kind of listening exercise. Dictation practice. Listen to the audio in your target language, then type out what you hear.

Is it free?

You can use LangLearnListen as a guest for free. As a guest, progress is saved in your browser storage and you can only save your progress for a single language.

Do I need an account to use LangLearnListen?

No. You can use LangLearnListen as a guest without creating an account.

What happens if I switch languages as a guest?

You will lose your progress if you switch languages as a guest. You can save your progress as a text file before you switch (click the arrow at the bottom of the home page). You can then load this progress later.

What benefits do I get if I sign up for an account?

Your progress is saved in the cloud. This means you can save progress for as many languages as you like, and you can keep your progress across different devices.

How much does it cost to sign up?

A LangLearnListen account subscription costs $1 per month.

Where did the audio clips and sentences originate from?

Single word audio clips are taken from the Google speech API. All other sentences and their respective audio clips are courtesy of the mozilla common voice project.

Where did the translations originate from?

Translations were generated using machine learning models created by the Language Technology Research Group at the University of Helsinki.

There is an issue with the sentence/audio/translation.
